We're excited to share the successful conclusion of a transformative training program for Women Business Development Coaches in Sri Lanka, a collaborative effort between MDF Training & Consultancy and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. This unique initiative was designed to enhance the skills of 30 talented women, equipping them with advanced techniques in e-commerce, digital marketing, environmental sustainability, and business coaching. Tailored specifically to empower women coaches, the program utilized a human-centred approach and design thinking to tackle the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, focusing on practical, hands-on experiences that translate into real-world applications.

Earlier in January 2024, the Canadian Trade and Investment Facility for Development (CTIF) commissioned MDF Training & Consultancy to implement a groundbreaking project: "Building the Capacity of Women Business Development Coaches in Sri Lanka," in partnership with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC). To aid in the recovery from recent economic challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, including reduced tourism and remittances, this initiative aligns with Sri Lanka's goals of export promotion, ease of business, and women's empowerment.

The five-day in-person workshop ran in two batches: Batch One was held from 3-7 June, followed by Batch Two from 10-14 June 2024, in Colombo. Combining interactive learning with hands-on activities, the training equips participants with practical skills and confidence to apply tools effectively.

Throughout the training, participants engaged in interactive sessions that fostered innovative thinking and strategic planning, ensuring they are well-prepared to mentor and support the growth of women-led businesses across Sri Lanka. The program highlighted the importance of understanding customer needs and leveraging digital tools to boost business visibility and efficiency. Celebrate with us as these newly empowered women business coaches step forward to make a significant impact, driving economic growth and promoting gender inclusivity in Sri Lanka’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
