On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, MDF West Africa hosted an event to mark the opening of its new office and official handing over ceremony to a new management. MDF West Africa recently relocated from its previous office at 124A Freetown Avenue, La Bawaleshie Road, East Legon, Accra, to a more spacious facility at 13 Kinshasa Avenue, East Legon, to better serve the needs of its clients.
The office opening aimed at introducing MDF partners and clients to the organization's new workspace and management. Richard Yeboah, who has served as the Director of MDF West Africa for the past ten years, has been instrumental in venture building and managing various projects for the organization. Guided by the slogan "Empowering People Creating Impact," the organization grew from a team of 4 to over 30 staff under his tenure which he successfully led, enhancing their skills in the services provided by MDF. Richard Yeboah now assumes the role of a Director for MDF Global.
In the transition, Richard handed over the directorship of MDF West Africa to his two deputy directors namely Mr. Kwaku Owusu Afriyie, who has been leading the Monitoring and Evaluation services for a decade, and Mrs. Julia Anyanewaa Appiah, who served as Project Manager during the same period. Mr. Kwaku Owusu Afriyie will serve as the Director of MDF West Africa responsible for the strategic management of the company by operationalizing the ONEMDF strategy and services and Mrs. Julia Anyanewaa Appiah as the Director of MDF West Africa responsible for facilitation of operations which covers Processes and Procedures, Support Services and Office Management at large. Both directors are responsible for external relations with partners and stakeholders to allow the organisation serve its clients across board
The outgoing Director expressed gratitude to the dedicated staff whose contributions have led to the success of MDF West Africa. He acknowledged their support in delivering training and consultancy services and securing projects under his leadership. As a symbolic gesture, he handed over a key to represent the transfer of office and directorship responsibilities to the new directors. In his parting words, the outgoing director encouraged the team to continue working collaboratively, building on existing partnerships, and striving to secure new projects for the continued success of MDF West Africa.
The new directors accepted the mantle and thanked the outgoing director for the confidence reposed in them. They pledged their dedication to continue the good work and strive for excellence to take the organizations to new heights. This they aim to achieve by focusing on the core values by empowering people and helping organizations make positive social impact. Kwaku Owusu Afriyie and Julia Appiah look forward to the continuous support of the dedicated staff, consultants, partners and stakeholders to shape the future of the organizations and achieve even greater accomplishments together as a team.
The event was also used as a networking session for clients and partners to make new connections. MDF West Africa is appreciative of its clients and stakeholders who have supported its journey since its inception in Ghana and especially grateful to those who could join to make the celebration a success. To honor the occasion, a cake-cutting and a champagne toasting took place. The entire event celebrated the significant milestones of the outgoing director Richard Yeboah, the opening of the new office, and transitioning of directorship to the capable hands of the new directors.
