Yayasan Hasanah is a leading foundation that promotes Malaysia’s global sustainability through solutions that empower communities, encourage social inclusivity, and improve the environment. Over the last few years, Yayasan Hasanah’s grant funding has grown rapidly, resulting in a greater number of grantees, projects, and activities for the foundation to review, approve and monitor.
With the help of MDF Asia (Indonesia office) Yayasan Hasanah refreshed and strengthened its M&E systems and processes and updated its Scorecard Framework in consultation with internal and external stakeholders. The assignment was carried out in the period September 2022 until August 2023.
The intake and inception phase got under way in September 2022 with the MLE team of Yayasan Hasanah, after a desk study and brief presentation of preliminary (desk study) findings. More desk studies, interviews, workshops, and benchmarking with both Yayasan Hasanah staff, management, and partners was done, in close cooperation and communication with the MLE department.
MDF designed a new M&E system, templates, a Handbook, and short training modules for Yayasan Hasanah staff and partners. The 22-page M&E Handbook contains Yayasan Hasanah’s impact concept, the EMPACT framework, and Yayasan Hasanah’s M&E principles, as well as a guide for the partners on how to design better projects with matching M&E systems.
