The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is the United Nations agency for human settlements and sustainable urban development. UN-Habitat has been active in Myanmar since the 1990s and works on various areas including participatory urban planning, pro-poor housing and improving human settlements.
The challenge is to become a stronger team (including the regional Habitat projects teams), which will lead the way to a harmonious, friendly and functional organisation.
Our office in Myanmar developed a tailor-made team retreat programme that shared successes and challenges in a so-called Success Gallery. The program included leadership style assessments with personal strengths and shadows. This greatly increased mutual understanding. The programme ended with action planning and team pledges. In the evening we organized special Habitat sing-a-longs and a Habitat quiz night.
Stronger bonding and team spirits. More understanding about project and organisational successes and sharing of good practices and lessons learned. A renewed momentum towards action and a harmonious organization.
