The YEP Programmes are carried out jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP), the Food & Business Knowledge Platform and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
Young professionals seeking for an international career in the water, agrofood and/or renewable energy sector struggle to find the right opportunities, while at the same time organisations struggle with a capacity gap. YEP Programmes strives to assure the continued availability of international professionalism and expertise in the Dutch water, agrofood and renewable energy sectors. This includes ensuring young professionals have the capacity to manage projects and people effectively, have the tools to work in an international environment and know how to transfer relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to make a more sustainable impact.
MDF Training & Consultancy is involved in the YEP programme in various ways. We support the Young Experts in their personal development by making use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. We also offer training on project management, proposal writing, leadership and training of trainers as part of the intensive training programme in the Netherlands. This way we support young professionals to be more effective in their work. We also facilitate online masterclasses on stakeholder analysis, business development and monitoring and evaluation. These masterclasses are available to the Young Experts in the field, supporting them to dive deeper into their projects, maximise learning and find opportunities for sustainable impact.
By 2020, the first phase of YEP programmes was completed and MDF Training & Consultancy is proud to have contributed to developing the capacity of over 400 young experts in 38 countries since 2013. In addition, we have employed and trained over 10 Young Experts in-house, all of whom continue their career with MDF Training & Consultancy or elsewhere in the sector.
